Let me be frank – I was born in a humble community, just like any other of you. I don’t pretend to be something that I am not, as a matter of fact I am proud that I had the upbringing that I had because it had helped me realize what the struggles of our communities truly are. It’s one of the main reasons why I have dedicated most of my adult life to help people out, just like others have helped me when I was growing up.

Giving something back to the community shouldn’t be an obligation, no – the act of helping others should come naturally and without any thought of compensation. Our communities are as strong as we are, and only through solid teamwork and kindness can we change something for the better. And only together can we enact the changes that we so desperately need as a nation.

Our people need equal opportunities if they are to have a comfortable future. Our communities need a state-of-the-art healthcare system if they are to live healthy and long lives. Our youth needs opportunities of employment if they are to stay in our beloved country and build a future here. And last but not least, all of our citizens need to be able to afford good-quality homes if they are to build a foundation on which their families can reside upon.

I care for each and every one of you just like I care for my own family. I might not personally know you but make no mistake – our destinies are bound together by the struggles of our past. And as long as I will represent you, you will have the comfort of knowing that your voice will be heard at all times.
